Intern Program

Whimsy Brook Farm has served as an educational institution and intern site since 1972. We regularly provide tailored paid and unpaid internships for high school Agriscience students, undergraduate pre-vet students, and graduate training veterinarians. We provide training in the art of riding instruction, equine management and equine facility management, as well as equine restraint, first aid, medical maintenance, dentistry, saddle-fitting, and the use of complimentary therapies such as homeopathy, acupuncture, Class IV laser therapy, and Pulsed Electro Magnetic therapy. Many of our Trainees have gone on to become Farm employees.

WE CANNOT PROVIDE HOUSING. Also, we do not take interns who do not have significant prior experience in basic horse maintenance tasks.

Make CERTAIN that you fill out the application by hand, completely, without referencing your resume, and then either fax, scan/email, snail mail or drop the application off at the Farm. Our Farm secretary is in the office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9am to noon to answer your questions.
